Our web site is poorly maintained and often out of date. We are trying to
get this fixed (it's nothing so simple as a shortage of manpower, alas).

1.96 shipped at the start of this month and generally seems solid. 1.97
will ship early next month.

No, not quite -- the fix went in last week, it will first appear in a
release in 1.97.

Andreas has been keeping the x509 patch current with the releases. We
hope to build in support eventually, but the schedule for that is unclear.
