I go no replies last time I posted this, so I'm not sure it got through.
Here's another try:
I have just attempted my first install of FreeSwan on a RedHat 7.0 box. The
compile and installation of kernel 2.2.19 seemed to go well, as did the
installation of freeswan (after a few tries), however, when I reboot the
system I get:
klips_info:ipsec_init: KLIPS startup, FreeS/WAN IPSec version: 1.96
early initialization of device ipsec0 is deferred
early initialization of device ipsec1 is deferred
early initialization of device ipsec2 is deferred
early initialization of device ipsec3 is deferred
...as reported by dmesg.
Also, I get hundreds of "Unresolved symbols" as depmod -a runs. And
thirdly, I get a "Delaying eth1 initialization." message when trying to
bring up the eth1 interface, which I assume is related to the Unresolved
symbols problem.
Any ideas what went wrong? And more importantly, how to recover?
Thanks...
Jim
