[Users] Kernel build error message bogus?

Hello list,

Pls cc me because I'm not on the list. I have, however looked through the
list archives, but couldn't identify this particular problem:

I just built a new box:
glibc-2.2.5 (w/ glibc-threads-2.2.5)
automake, autoconf -- latest versions
gcc-2.95.3
kernel-2.4.18
iptables-1.2.6a (used 'make patch-o-matic' target)

kernel built OK. Added iptables, then changed to freeswan directory
(1.95) and performed make menugo (changed ipsec to a module).

build started. ipsec tools installed. kernel builds (I get brand new
System.map and arch/i386/boot/bzImage files).

Modules build and install OK. Installed kernel and it works (as does
ipsec, at least I get a good tunnel).

However, the freeswan build returns this:

***ERRORS DETECTED in out.kbuild (examine file for details):
gcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux-2.4.18/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes
-Wno-trigraphs -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -fno-strict-aliasing -fno-common
-pipe -mpreferred-stack-boundary=2 -march=i586 -DKBUILD_BASENAME=errors
-c -o eror.o eror.c

I can find _no_ error messages anywhere in out.kbuild (and I've looked at
_every_ line).

Any ideas if this message if for real or bogus? Everything is apparently
working (or so say the logs), but I hate to take this for granted.

Thanx,

David A. Bandel
