That's not an acceptable approach. See the last
question in the FreeS/WAN FAQ for the reasons.

I'd suggest just having the list server drop any
post that contains anything other than plain ASCII
text.

You might need some exceptions. PGP signatures
should be supported, and some mailers want to
do them as a separate MIME part. I'm not sure
what might need to be done about character
sets.
