[Users] Routing with FW and VPN-GW on diff. boxes

Hi,

I plan the following setup for my lan:

     RW1----------*Internet*-----------VPN-Gate
        : \
     RWx LAN-----
                                                          /
                             *Internet*-----------Firewall

As far as I understood freeswan, you don't need virtual IP-addresses on the road warriors to access the LAN (public IP-addresses). But I don't see how routing works, if there are two points out to the internet. Replys to the warriors (IP-Address from ISP) are sent to the standard gw, which is the firewall. Or do I have to choose the VPN-gateway as my standard gateway in the LAN?
