In my humble opinion FreeS/WAN is much more stable with the Linux 2.4
Kernel. Under the 2.2 Kernel KLIPS sometimes blocks or discards large
IP packets (near or equal the MTU). I've had these kind of problems
for several months now with Windows WLAN Clients and a Linux 2.2 /
FreeS/WAN 1.97 security gateway. Today I switched to a Linux 2.4.18
Kernel on the gateway and all problems vanished immediately.
