What is the point of putting up with the flood of virus notifications on this
list if the virus-infected attachments still come through and infest my
mailbox? The Freeswan list is the single biggest source of email viruses I've
ever had. Shouldn't the infected attachments be stripped out at the server?

This is a strange list. I love that it is courteous and helpful, but this
virus thing is too weird. I've read the various threads on this topic, and I
still don't understand the point of scanning at the server if the infected
attachments are sent on anyway. Having a mirrored, moderated/filtered list,
as has been proposed, might be a viable solution, but why? It's a duplication
of effort and resources, and a waste of yet more bandwidth.

I'm not leaving the list, and I hope someday to be able to contribute in some
ways, like having actual answers. Freeswan is a great product and I want to
support it. But this virus issue is completely nuts.

For example, the following email came through with all virus-infested
attachments completely intact. Why?
