[Users] multiple tunnels with same subnet - ipsec auto

I have a few locations with the same subnet and would like to shut one down
and then bring one up and vise versa. What are the commands to do this? I
usually start a connection with auto=add in ipsec.conf by issuing ipsec
auto --up name_of_conn. Could I use ipsec auto --down conn1 and then ipsec
auto --up conn2 and viceversa? Obviously it would be best to change the
subnets, but I can't do this at this time.
