Without knowing what connections you've actually setup up it is tough
to say what you need to define. That is, it would be useful to see
either the output of "ipsec barf" or the following which is a much
smaller subset of what barf produces :-
$ ipsec spi
$ ipsec eroute
$ route -n
A tcpdump on eth0, ipsec0, and eth1 while you are trying the ping
would be helpful too.
