 Hello All:

I'm newbie to VPN setup. I need some help in setting up VPN for the
scenario
 mentioned below:

 My Environment:
 - Linux server IP: 10.10.10.6
 - OS: Redhat Linux 7.0
         Kernel: 2.4.18-3ipsec
 - Freeswan: FreeS/WAN IPsec U1.98b/K1.97

 What I want to do:
I want to setup Freeswan as a server and use VPN client software application
such as SSH Sentinel. I want to create secure tunnel from my client systems
to
the server which hosts important web based applications. I want to give
access
to these applications using VPN.

 Network setup:
Right now, for the trial run, I have installed Freeswan on one of our
internal linux server and I have installed SSH Sentinel on my desktop
machine. I
want to establish secure connection between my desktop and the linux server.
If
this setup runs as it should -- I will move this setup to our Gateway
machine
which also hosts our firewall. In the later setup, clients will connect to
the server
from home systems which are usually on dialup.

How do I begin, do I have all what I require? Is there any
software/applications which
are missing. Can somebody throw some light on it please?

 Regards,
Rohit Peyyeti
