Free Speech is also impeded by requiring people to subscribe to the list
in order to post. You can always choose what to listen to (aka filter) on
a personal level. I'm not going down this road any futher - I don't run
the lists, so it's not my call.

Not on this new batch of viruses, that's for sure. However, requiring
people to subscribe to the list wouldn't solve this recent virus outbeak
either, as I've seen forged messages from list subscribers here too
(including an @freeswan.org forged message).

I'd also recommend these procmail rules:
:0
*^Subject:.*(ScanMail|Antigen|InterScan|WARNING. You tried to send a potential virus)
virus.notify
:0
*^Subject:.*(Worm Klez.E immunity|Report to Recipient|ALERT - GroupShield)
virus.notify
These filter any misconfigured email virus scanners from complaining to you.
Someone posted these to the mailing list back the last time we had the
"filtering the list" discussion.
