PLEASE, get over it. There are some very good free antivirus scanners
which can be easily implemented on any mail server. I did it myself for my
institute's mail server and, just for overkill, even on my laptop.
The mailing list administrators will not filter the list, for their own
reasons, like it or not, not ever, read the archives. If you cannot accept
it, unsubscribe and, please, refrain from sending large png images to the
list and from starting more useless flame wars.

So ask you ISP to virus scan email for you. Otherwise, unsubscribe from
the list and read the mailing list archives on the web, skipping virii
etc.
