[Users] How is Free S/WAN funded?

The recent debate about viruses and subscriptions and stuff like that brought this to the front of my mind - how do the Free W/WAN folks make money? The web site has a vague mention of an affluent benefactor, but without a revenue stream the money will run out sooner or later.

fwiw, I really appreciate getting this wonderful technology for free! But I also realize that if it's free, somebody somewhere must be paying for all the work. So is there some way we list subscribers can send work or a means to make money back to the Free S/WAN team? Would this help ensure you guys stay around for a very long time?
