Some people have done this successfuly.

No plans on our side to do this

I have already checked your problem and also given you an answer.
Quote:
"You can savely use all SuSE version from 7.0 up to 7.3 and probably
also 8.0. But using SuSE is not a requirement. I know of people that
use FreeSWAN for IPv6 on Redhat systems without a problem (after
upgrading!). The problematic difference here between SuSE and Redhat
is that Redhat uses a gcc that stops on a certain #ifdef with an
error while the gcc shipped with SuSE only warns. Using our upgrade
kit fixes this #ifdef (among other things)"
I told you that you don't need to use SuSE, Redhat is also fine.
The problem you experience is in some differences between
Redhat and SuSE C-compiler.
Use the update (available at our webpage www.ipv6.iabg.de) and
the error will go away.
