Hi John,
according to the barf, FreeS/WAN never receives any IKE messages from
the Win XP client although it says Negotiating IP Security on the Windows
side. Can you send me the ipsec.conf of the Win XP client?

BTW - You load the same Root CA certificate twice and /etc/x509cert.der is
not needed if you load your cert via leftcert=.
