Hello!

I'm trying to set up a VPN between two machines that are permanently
connected to the internet (foo.dyndns.org and brix-gmbh.dyndns.org).

foo.dyndns.org (foo) is locally connected to 192.168.1.0/24 with the IP
192.168.1.1 and
brix-gmbh.dyndns.org (brix) is locally connected to 192.168.2.0/24 with the
IP 192.168.2.1.

Both machines are connected to the internet using the same ISP and are
running Debian 3.0 and the debian-packaged version 1.96 of FreeS/WAN.

Everything seems to be working just fine and as far as I can tell, the
tunnel is up and running. But when I'm trying to ping 192.168.2.1 from foo I
get the following error:

> foo:~# ping -c 1 192.168.2.1
> PING 192.168.2.1 (192.168.2.1): 56 data bytes
> ping: sendto: Operation not permitted
> ping: wrote 192.168.2.1 64 chars, ret=-1

The same happens when I try to ping foo from the brix machine.

The ipsec barf outputs from both machines can be found at
http://foo.dyndns.org/ipsec.barf.txt
http://brix-gmbh.dyndns.org/ipsec.barf.txt

Does anybody on this list have any idea what I'm doing wrong? Every help is
really appreciated.
Thank you very much in advance!
