I'm pleased to announce that a product based on Linux+Free/SWAN has
just been certified for ITSEC-E2 level by Polish ABW (Internal Security
Agency).
Technically, it's nothing special as E2 doesn't involve code audit
and the certification process is based mostly on documentation and
examination of the device's behaviour in lab. But personally I believe
that this could be quite interesting for Linux community to learn about
that certification.
Maybe you will be also interested to read that the software we created
uses code bases from Linux, FreeS/WAN (with Juanjo's modules), grsecurity
and several others, customized for the project.
Lots of code has been written for the project and most of it has already
been or will be soon published as GPL. The next phase we are heading for
is certifying a whole authentication system, also based on open software.
